15 weeks and going strong! This last week has been great. It seems like all signs of morning sickness are finally completely out of my system. I haven’t felt really nauseous for a week and I haven’t thrown up for two weeks! High five!
I can’t express how great it feels to wake up in the morning and feel like I can roll right out of bed and start my day. For two months I dreaded waking up to feeling sick yet again, and I always had to stay in bed for a bit to make sure the coast was clear to stand up. It feels great to be able to make plans with friends and not feel pretty sure that I’ll have to cancel. That I don’t have to ask Marcus to not eat certain things in front of me, to not shake the bed or to not get too close to me. That man has tolerated and done so much for me!
When we were cooking our anniversary dinner last night I was feeling a little blue and got all quiet. When Marcus accidentally caught my hair on a button on his shirt I couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. I cried and cried and cried. Marcus got pretty scared because he thought he had done something, cause obviously the button couldn’t have hurt this bad. Finally when I could steady myself we went to the living room to eat. I’d only just sat down when I saw it. A water bottle that Marcus had filled with my favorite orange soda. I exploded and the sobbing started all over again.
Every time this happens I have to sit Marcus down and explain that I’m not really sad, that it isn’t his fault and that I just need to get it out. I compare it to really needing to pee. No use holding it in.
New this week is mainly that I’m clearly going throw growth spurts. Every day now I have hours of cramps. Similar to period pain. But a little different. It’s like I can actually feel my body expanding, or like it’s growing too fast. I rub my growing belly in cream daily to avoid stretch marks and also because my mom warned me that her belly got really itchy just around now. Anything to avoid that!
My waist is now completely extinct. At least I don’t curve inwards at all below the ribs. The bump is big enough now that even by sucking it in all the way I can’t pull it off as a casual little tummy. I feel like Harry Potter in church when everyone looks at my stomach before they look me in the eyes. It’s obvious there’s a baby in there!
As for le baby. He is just about the size of an orange or 10 cm (4 inches) and weighs in at about 70 g (2.5 oz). Hope I get to feel the baby soon cause she’s supposed to be squirming a kicking a lot in there. Also her facial muscles are developed so she’s probably pulling some really cute baby faces :)
