After spending a LOT of hours in the library and the testing center today we were pretty dead and careless. All we wanted was to grab some food somewhere and then hurry home to our couch and watch a movie. So we decided to enjoy Laie’s crazy nightlife by going to one of the village’s hottest spots. It’s called Seven Brothers and it is a burger joint. Though it’s a small place that’s hard to spot from the street (then again, nothing here is particularly easy to spot from the street…), everyone knows where it is!
Along with its twin, Kahuku Grill just north of here, Seven Brothers is a family business that took off and are now “must sees” on the north shore. Seven Brothers is named for the seven sons of the owner and … I gotta say… I’m not a huge burger person, but I am a sucker for anything caramelized and these babies come with amazing sweet caramelized onion. So here, I am a burger person! Kahuku Grill is known for their Macadamia Nut Shrimp – which are my absolute favorite Hawaiian food so far btw!
But what I particularly like about both places is how they manage to catch the feel of the North Shore with everything from the good-natured easy-going staff, singing cooks in the kitchen to the simple rolls of paper towels on each of the pastel painted wooden tables.
