It’s Saturday night and I’m craving my all-time favorite dessert — Devil’s Food Cake!
As I don’t have an oven and literally can’t make it I’ll just throw the recipe out there and hope that some able soul out there will take the opportunity to have an awesome cake experience.
And if not… excuse my blubbering… But here it is!
320 g flour
– Oh sorry… I’m doing European measurements. Google will help you out!
60 g cocoa
1,5 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
100 g softened butter
1 tsp vanilla
3 egg yolks
3,25 dl cold water
3 egg whites
180 g sugar
Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Beat egg whites till almost stiff and add the 180 grams of sugar, then beat till stiff. In medium bowl beat butter for 30 seconds. Add the 250 grams of sugar and vanilla and beat till fluffy. Add the egg yolks, one at a time, and beat for 1 minute after each. A little at a time, add the dry ingredients and the cold water and stir till mixed good. Carefully stir the egg whites into the batter. Finished!
Bake for about 20 minutes in 175 degrees (celsius).
Beat 500 grams of powdered sugar with 100 softened butter. Add milk to reach right texture. Add a spoonful of cream cheese, add vanilla or almond extract and fruit coloring of your choice.
